Sizes As supplied on basework plans - dimension shown in imperial as nominal for ease of understanding eg 18 x 12’ nominal.
Roof Black Onduline / translucent sheets. Red/Green Onduline on request.
Sarking option for wind / snow prone locations.
Openings Supplied to customer preferences, as required on front face of building.
Maximum 3.0m (10’) per bay before support required.
Ventilators Gable "louvre vents" & upper rear Yorkshire Board slatted ventilators as standard.
Basework

Concrete base can be laid where required for very permanent locations.

Fieldshelters are often temporary or built to lowest cost. In this case heavy timber bearers laid on top of prepared ground or crushed, graded level stone.

After erection we recommend installation of fence posts to each corner.

Kickboard Cromarty optional to 1.2m (4’) or eaves height.
Colonsay standard to 1.2m (4').
Partition Optional to divide building to create separate room, eg for feed.
Closures Either 5 bar gates or bars with slip rail brackets to front.
Divide internally with adjustable height rails or gates.
Guttering Optional to front or rear



ECONOMY FIELD SHELTER SPECIFICATIONS
 

Please note that the specifications for the Economy Field Shelter are quite different from those of the CROMARTY and COLONSAY standard fieldshelter styles.

  • One size only - 16x12' nom (4.88 x 3.66m).
  • 3 x 2 nom CLS kiln dried framework.
  • 12mm external grade hardwood ply cladding.
  • 9 x 2 nom heavy duty purlins.
  • Pent style roof in black Onduline.
  • 7'0 / 2.12m eaves - 10'6 / 3.2m at highest point.
  • 15'6 / 4.73m opening width.
  • Requires staining of external walls.
  • Can be erected onto concrete, hardcore or a timber base as per our regular field shelters.
  • Designed for DIY self-erection.

 

 

 


COLONSAY (TOWABLE FIELD SHELTER) GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • 63 x 175 treated heavy duty skids with angled toes and metal faced protectors.
  • Bolted through heavy duty rings for towing eyelets and 3 x 3 corner post brackets.
  • Intermediate brackets in longer buildings.
  • Steel lugs to take fixing pins for summer only use.
  • Heavy duty 3 x 2 nom (38 x 63 actual) dressed structural CLS framework, cross braced for rigidity.
  • Pressure treated 19 x 125nom (16 x 121 actual) Swedish Cladding for long life, maintenance free.
  • Substantial 6 x 2 purlins with Black ONDULINE roofing system & clear roof sheets.
  • Sliprail for temporary closure to front openings with diagonal braced upper section.
  • Full width upper rear slatted Yorkshire Boarding rear.
  • Kicklined inside to 4' for strength and stability.
