INTRODUCTION
Saltire Stables began in 1992 with the simple ethos of designing, manufacturing and erecting a quality, value for money range of buildings for the equestrian community. In the years since our foundation, we have kept to that ethos and we still manufacture and erect every timber building that we offer with our own staff, keeping our quality standards as high as possible.

The range has got somewhat larger in response to customer requests but still using the same kiln dried pressure treated components. This price list highlights the major products that we offer and gives basic price and design information. As you can see we specialise in larger structures but we have made a wide range of other products and if you have any requirements for a timber framed structure just contact us for prices.

SPECIAL OFFERS
From time to time we have special seasonal offers and promotions available and we also have display buildings or customer cancelled orders available. These are updated on a regular basis and are shown on our website www.saltireoffers.co.uk

GENERAL TERMS – Applicable to all buildings

  • All prices are ex works Cupar, transport is costed at 5% of order value (subject to min charge).
  • All prices exclude VAT.
  • All building prices include erection. Self erection discount 17.5%.
  • Site Visits and quotations are free of charge.
  • Planning Permission Drawings & Information Pack are charged at £175 but this is refunded in full on final invoice.
  • Detailed Building Warrant Drawings and Structural Engineering Certificates are charged at cost and are non refundable.
  • All offers are made subject to our standard terms and conditions of sale shown in brochure or on our website.

TRANSPORTATION
The costs of delivering the components, our men and machinery to erect the buildings is charged at 5% of order value  subject to the following minimum charges, per order and calculated using Autoroute Express
0 - 99 mls  £100        100 – 149 mls  £175        150 – 250 mls £300        300+ mls POA
Offshore Locations and Islands costed to nearest ferryport. Export orders are subject to individual quotation based on delivery by artic lorry usually on a groupage rate. Customers must have access suitable for these lorries and be able to unload such vehicles.

LOW CARBON BUILDINGS
One of the great things about timber building systems is that they leave a small carbon footprint. Over it’s lifetime, timber emits 5 times less carbon than concrete and 10 times less that steel! In addition Saltire Stables have had lean manufacturing systems in place for many years which minimise waste and we also recycle all our timber offcuts which are turned into mulch for parks, gardens and riding surfaces. Every stable we manufacture typically locks up 0.7 tonnes of carbon and our typical double garage about 1.2 tonnes.

Our buildings are also lighter to transport and designed to be erected by manpower only meaning they are just about as green as it is possible to be at the current point in time!

DRAWINGS / TECHNICAL SUPPORT
When we send you a quote, we include a layout plan drawing and typical concrete details free of charge. The layout plan and quotation can be amended as required until correct. When a layout and the specification are finalised and you are ready to order (as many customers do not require any permissions)  you can place an order and we will send an order confirmation and basework drawings.  You can still place an order even if permissions are required (subject to being granted) -  this will guarantee a fixed price for the project that we will try to hold for a year.

If you do need permission, you should be aware that this takes two distinct forms. Planning permission is basically approval for the shape, size and location of the building you propose. Building Warrant is a separate system that checks that the building you propose is strong and safe enough so it won't fall down, that its drains run to the correct points and that it has the correct insulation and so on. Equestrian buildings are still considered as domestic as their occupants (ie horses !) are non agricultural and hence subject to a non agricultural regulations but our Canadian Barns however are usually considered as agricultural as they are a multipurpose building with non structural internal partitions.

If you need planning permission then we will be delighted to send you a pack of information. This will provide elevation drawings to go with the layout plans for your finalised design and some pictures to show the finishes and general appearance.  These drawings show your detailed building but will need additional information from you to fix it's location on your property. We will also include a technical specification sheet, base, structural and cross sectional drawings for a standard "typical" building from our buildings library that should answer any building warrant queries. The £175 cost is refundable against your final invoice when your building is supplied.

From time to time the Council request specific detailed cross sectional drawings and / or a structural engineer's certificate which includes bespoke engineering calculations to reflect your location and elevation and site investigation works to confirm ground strength, suitability and porosity tests. This work is rarely needed but is charged at cost (quoted on request on individual job by job basis) and is non refundable.
